So first things first, let’s get the details out of the way. Born and raised in LA, earned my degree in San Diego, lived in Sydney, then back to LA, and various travels around the world before finding my nest here in San Francisco.
For the past few years I have fully immersed myself into the intricate world of wine and spirits. By day I do marketing and web content for a wine importer/retailer, by night I am the Wine & Spirits editor for Drink Me Magazine. I previously earned my Certified Specialist of Wine certification while still living in LA and have recently completed my WSET Diploma.
I have collaborated with some great companies in the trade including as a panelist for UK based World’s Leading Wines, assistant buyer for the SF Wine Center, wine specialist for Vin Ambassador, and have had articles published in The Whisky Advocate, Connoisseur Magazine, 2paragraphs.com, etc.
I’m an avid animal lover and have volunteered with animals overseas as well as here locally. Currently, I volunteer weekly at Pets Unlimited and work with dogs in order to prepare them for adoption. But of all the animals in the world, there is still one that has my entire heart in his little fuzzy paws…and his name is Buddy.
Now that we have that out of the way, let’s move on to the part about why I’m even here. With my passion for wine and the stories behind them, my theory is to enlighten as oppose to manipulate. At the end of the day, all that really matters is how enjoyable a wine is to our own palates. My posts are written with the intention of showcasing some of the exquisite wines and spirits I taste as well as featuring the people and places who make them.
And because my travels over the years have bestowed me with an open-minded wisdom and profound love for all that this world has to offer us, I have designated a small section of my website for these special stories from abroad.
And lastly, because I happen to live one of the greatest cities in the world (or so we say), another small section of the website will be dedicated to the everyday life here in San Francisco. From food to indie music, coffee to neighborhood parks, cocktails to rainy day poetry, and maybe even a crack head here and there, this is just an average girl’s life in a not so average city.
Happy readings to all and I’ll sign off with one of my favorite quotes…
“…you mustn’t be so open-minded that your brains fall out.” – E.E. Cummings
